Day 4 was my favourite of all the days we spent in Sydney by far!
Before we left to go on this trip we had looked up a few cool things you can do in Sydney and we had seen the aquarium, wildlife park and Madame Tussauds wax museum. We really liked the look of all of them. Only problem was it was $45 per person per attraction! That was going to cost us $270 to look at it all! We just couldn't afford that sadly.
Lucky for us, I found a brochure in our hostel that said if you bring the brochure with you you can go and see all 3 attractions for only $65 per person! Well that was a deal we couldn't resist! Only $130 for the 2 of us. That's cheaper than just one person seeing all 3 things normally!
So we got up and walked down to the beautiful Darling harbour for breakfast on the waterfront before we began our big adventure day looking at all the amazing exhibits.
We had a huge breakfast with everything included! I know, food again! But a girl's gotta eat right? Oh, and it was so good. I gave James my mushroom and tomato and he gave me his beans. I love being married to someone who will eat all the food I just can't stomach!
After that it was time for the fun to begin. We went to the wildlife park first.
Then we met the Tasmanian Devils. I spent so long watching them! They had this little circuit in their enclosure which they just repeatedly ran around. They looked like they were having a blast! Because they kept running around all over the place it was quite hard to get a photo of them that wasn’t just a blur! But finally they slowed down for a second so I could get this snap. I really liked these little guys.
In the next enclosure there was this moody looking Koala. I’d never seen a Koala before so I was pretty excited. But there was this really weird bird in the enclosure who actually stole the show for me. He stared at me so weirdly for so long I felt quite creeped out. Then he sat down! Have you ever seen a bird sit down with their legs out the front like this? I never have and it was so weird! I loved him.
Kangaroos! They had to be my favourite animals in the wildlife park! We got to go in and pat them! They were awesome! They had so much character. This was probably the highlight of my day!
Here are a few more pictures of some of the awesome animals we got to look at during our time at the wildlife park.
Next up we went to the aquarium. I loved this place too! There were several schools having class trips here so it was pretty packed! But so worth it!
I really love when you get to walk through the glass tunnels and see all the sea critters swim all around you. I want a walk in aquarium at my house. It felt so peaceful and magical!
My absolute favourite animals I saw here were the Dugongs. They are just lovely! I felt like they would be lovely to swim with. They seemed so gentle and friendly! I really can understand why they are called Sea Cows. They gave me very similar feelings to seeing a friendly cow in a field. James was so so sweet and bought me a toy Dugong from the gift shop at the end because he saw how much I loved them! I’m married to a very lovely man.
Here are just a few more snaps from our adventure in the aquarium.
Lastly we went to Madame Tussauds. I thought this was amazing as well! We had such a great day!
Here are some pictures of James with some of the celebrity wax models.
This is a pretty long post already but I'm going to squeeze day 5 in here too because it wasn't very eventful.
This was our very last day in Sydney! We actually spent a good part of the day at the airport.
Before we went to the airport we went for a little wander down to Chinatown. It was so cute! I really enjoyed seeing the interesting buildings they had there.
After that we got some peach and strawberry smoothies which were good!
Then it was home time! We hopped back on the train and headed for the airport.
We had a grand total of $22 AUD left when we got to the airport and had something to eat. We decided a fun idea to spend it on would be buying a surprise gift for the other. So we got $11 each and had to find something in the duty free area to get.
I bought James some really cute playing cards with little cartoon sharks and koalas on them. James bought me two little cloths for glasses. One had a picture of a kangaroo on it because he knew my favourite experience had been patting the Kangaroos and the other had the Sydney Opera house on it because he knew I was a little sad that we hadn't got around to going to see it while we were there. I thought it was so sweet how thoughtful he had been!
And that sums up Sydney! We had such a fun time together! I definitely recommend Sydney as a very fun holiday destination!
